Tree Surgery - Do's and Don'ts
Understanding how individual trees respond to the day to day things that happen around them (above and below ground) is of the utmost importance when it comes to cost effectively looking after them.
Correctly maintaining trees is both an “Art” as well as a “Science” that requires tertiary levels of training and many years of supervised experience and field training.
Practices such as lopping creates unsafe trees that are much more costly to maintain than doing it right the first time.

BEWARE: Regrettably there are arborists who have certification but not the inclination, suitable experience or the ability to put it into practice; and who will tailor their interpretation and advice around their short comings and ignorance of the subject: making it sometimes difficult for clients to know the difference between a good or a bad arborist until after the event. The above should help in asking the right questions before hand ------- also refer to “Caring for Trees” below.
