Tree Surgery - Key Personnel

Luke Lumbus:
Heads up Arbor Centre’s Tree Surgery Division

For new clients, Luke is usually your first friendly face to face contact with Arbor Centre.  One of his joys is being able to monitor the progress of how trees have responded over the years between servicing them. Tree husbandry is a term that fits well with Luke as he recalls the detail of almost every tree that he has personally serviced or been responsible for servicing much like a parent looking lovingly over his children.

Luke is a seasoned and qualified Arborist who started his apprenticeship as a mature aged student with Arbor Centre in the late 90’s and who, with humility and dedication, excelled in all facets of arboriculture to take out honours in his ‘Trade Certificate’ year.

In persuing his passion for trees, Luke has developed a depth of local tree knowledge along with the prized ability to diagnose and interpret tree needs for the benefit of those around him. Being part of performing some of the day to day works as well as training other budding arborists and the tree surgery crew members in our ranks; keeps him in touch with the day to day performance standards and the fulfilment of client specific and site specific aspects of every job.

His natural inclination to strive for the best in tree care is a characteristic that you are sure to encounter when he next arrives to provide you with advice and a quotation for your trees.

Chad Thompson & Matt Bonsack:
The Crew Leaders of Arbor Centre’s Tree Surgery Teams.

On the scheduled day that the works are to be done, it will likely be Chad or Matt (if not Luke) who’s smiling face will greet you to go through the works planned for your trees just to make sure the details of the discussions you had with Luke when quoting are understood and carried out (Understanding the trees needs is as important for the arborists carrying out the works as it was for Luke in the first instance). These are the guys who hone their skills on the aerial works that form part of every job.

Both Chad and Matt have completed their trade certificates and as with Luke, they also take pride in interpreting  the many characteristics that are displayed by trees during the course of the pruning works. It is these subtleties and seasonal changes that often form part of the crews lunchtime banter.

Before leaving the site, it is also the role of Chad & Matt to ensure that the place is left clean and tidy and that the details of the finished job are properly recorded for our Data Base of clients trees and their service history.
